Did you know that tin mining built KL? Get the inside story on how Chinese miners of the 1850s made waves with the meeting point of two rivers that contributed to the KL we see today. This half day tour takes you on a journey back in time to KL’s roots at the Royal Selangor Pewter Visitor’s Centre that pays homage to tin as the main component in making pewter. Other attractions include the River Confluence (birth place of KL), The Independence Square, The Sultan Abdul Samad Building, Kuala Lumpur City Gallery, The King’s Palace, Batu Caves.

People constantly flock to the birthplace of Malaysia. Its strategic location led to an economic boom, great enough to cause nations to fight for ruling rights. It is through 600 years of various European influences that gave birth to a unique heritage, customs and lifestyle of the local folks, landing it the UNESCO Heritage site recognition. Malacca was also the state where Malaysia’s declaration of Independence was held. The tour highlights St Peter’s Church, Porta De Santiago and the ruins of St Paul’s Church, Dutch Administration office, Cheng Hoon Teng Temple & Jonker Street. Kampong Morten, this village is probably the only remaining Malay riverine village in Melaka, which still retains its old charm despite nestled within the confines of city comforts. It is more of a “living museum” than a typical Malay village.

Check-out from hotel and transfer to KLIA for departure flight to Lahad Datu via Kota Kinabalu.

Meet upon arrival at Lahad Datu Airport, drive 83km through selectively logged forest, cocoa and softwood plantations before arriving at the Borneo Rainforest Lodge beside Danum River on the edge of 438 sq. km of undisturbed lowland rainforest. The Lodge is home to the full range of Sabah’s lowland fauna, including the rare Sumatran Rhinoceros, Pgymy Elephants, Clouded Leopards, and Orang Utans. So far some 275 species of birds have been recorded in the area.

Check-in to the Borneo Rainforest Lodge and prepare yourself for an introduction to our nature activity for the day. Nature activities introduction includes guided nature trails, Canopy Walkway – 360m in length and 27m at the highest point, for a close observation of the rainforest and Night Drive after dinner.

Wake up to the calls of the Bornean Gibbons and start your day with guided trekking to the “View Point” and “Coffin Cliff” (a Kadazan Dusun burial site). Take a short break by the Natural Jacuzzi pool for a refreshing dip before lunch at the Lodge. Afternoon optional activities: A Guided Jungle Trekking or if weather permits, Water Tubing session down the Danum River for an hour or at guest’s own leisure time. Guided Night Walk on the Nature Trail after dinner.

After breakfast, proceed to morning jungle trek. Trek to the Fairy Falls and Serpent Falls for a scenic view. Return to lodge for lunch.

Afternoon optional activities: Guided Trekking along Segama River or at guest’s own leisure time.

After breakfast, check-out and transfer to Lahad Datu Airport for departure flight to Kota Kinabalu.

Meet upon arrival at Kota Kinabalu International Airport, depart on a 1.5hrs transfer to Kuala Penyu Jetty and board
on a 40mins speedboat transfer to the pristine island of Pulau Tiga, off the west coast of Malaysia. Surrounded by
lush jungles and golden beaches, Borneo Eagle Resort is nothing short of a Bornean paradise. The resort boasts
luxurious villas together with pool and spa facilities guests can use to relax and re-energise. Because the resorts are also within close distance to the rainforest, take a walk, unwind to the sounds of Mother Nature and forget about your worries for awhile.
