Meet upon arrival at Kuching International Airport. You will be greeted at the arrival hall by our friendly guide, and transfer to hotel for check-in. Rest of the day is at own leisure.

1600hrs, pick up from hotel and proceed for Santubong Wildlife Cruise (approx. 3.5hrs)

This tour takes you around the rivers of the Santubong Peninsular, offering you the chance to see some of Sarawak’s fascinating wildlife. From Sarawak Boat Club, your boat cruises to the mouth of the Santubong River, where Irrawaddy dolphins are often spotted. Your boat then roams the mangrove-lined rivers looking for wildlife. As the light starts to fade we go in search of the rare proboscis monkey. Small groups are often seen in the treetops at the water edge, settling down for the night. As dusk arrives we search for fireflies and crocodiles. Crocodiles are often seen on the mud banks and brightly shining crocodile eyes can be spotted when a torch light is passed over the river. After searching for crocodiles your boat proceeds further up river where fireflies gather at night. Watch the fireflies move around the branches of the mangroves, momentarily lighting up the night sky. After enjoying a firefly light show you return to the boat club.

Note: Whenever viewing wildlife, sightings cannot be absolutely guaranteed, although we do enjoy a high success rate. Wildlife commonly seen includes proboscis monkeys, estuarine crocodiles, macaques, fireflies, monitor lizards and silver-leaf monkeys. Irrawaddy dolphins and a range of birdlife like White Belly Eagle, White Egret, Seagull, and Kingfishers are also sometimes seen. Tour is weather permitting and does not operate during rainy days.

0800hrs, pick up from hotel and proceed to Semenggoh Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre (approx. 3hrs)

This is the best place in Sarawak to view Borneo’s most famous residents, the orangutans, who have been rescued from the captivity and the forestation. Here, they are trained to survive in the surrounding forest reserve. These rehabilitated primates roam freely in the rainforest, and often return to the centre during their feeding time. Thanks to the successful breeding programme at Semenggoh, there is a good possibility of experiencing one of the most heart-warming sights in Borneo – an orangutan mother with a young baby. The centre is 30-minute drive from Kuching and another 20-minute on foot. Along the way, visitors will pass by the ethno-botanical gardens, with their unique collection of rain-forest plants. Semenggoh also has a small collection of rainforest plants.

Note: As the orangutans in Semenggoh are semi-wild, sightings cannot be guaranteed.

A perfect introduction to Sarawak’s historic capital, this tour will introduce you to the popular landmarks of Kuching such as the Chinatown, Cat Statue, Tua Pek Kong Chinese Temple, Cat Museum and Darul Hana Bridge. Return via the golden-domed city mosque passing through Kuching’s old town brimming with spice dealers and textile shops. Admire the city’s many historic buildings built during the White Rajah era including the Pavilion, Square Tower, Court House and Charles Brooke Monument. Later, take in views of The Astana, a former residence of the White Rajahs from across the river at the Kuching Waterfront.

0830hrs, pick up from hotel and proceed to Bako National Park (approx. 6hrs)

This small peninsula, 1 ½ hours from Kuching by car and longboat, is home to seven distinct rainforest ecosystems, giving it a remarkable diversity of animal and plant life. Bako’s most famous residents are the bizarre proboscis monkeys, dusky-leaf monkeys, long-tailed macaques, wild boar, flying squirrels and monitor lizards as well as hundreds of different bird species. Fascinating plant life includes mangroves, strangling figs, carnivorous pitcher plants and symbiotic ant plants. Unique geological features mark the coastline, whilst well-marked trails lead to rugged jungle-covered hilltops and secluded beaches.

This exciting day starts with a scenic drive through the countryside dotted with rubber, pepper and oil palm plantations. Enjoy lunch en-route before arriving at your hotel in the town of Sri Aman. The remainder of the day is at leisure to explore the surroundings or just relax at your hotel.

After breakfast at the hotel, head to Batang Ai Hydro Lake where you will depart for UKOM longhouse by motorized longboat. Enjoy a short cultural performance by the longhouse dwellers followed by a blowpipe demonstration.

Enjoy lunch and some free time before your journey back to the hotel.

Check-out from hotel and head back to Kuching, pausing to enjoy lunch en-route.

Check-out from hotel and transfer to Kuching International Airport for your departure flight to Mulu.

Meet upon arrival at Mulu Airport, transfer to hotel for check-in.

In the early afternoon, meet at the Park HQ and proceed on foot via the 3.8 kilometre wooden walkway to explore Lang Cave. Lang Cave is the smallest of the 4 show-caves. Next, we explore Deer Cave, the entrance of which can contain the size of St. Paul Cathedral 5 times over. In the early evening, witness the bat’s exodus from the caves as they look for food (depending on the weather). Return to Park Headquarters then transfer back to your accommodation for dinner and overnight.

Note: Please bring torchlight, insect repellent, raincoat, swim wear, own drinking bottle and first aid kit.

Breakfast at the hotel.

0830hrs, your guide will meet you and then you will proceed to board a long boat going up streams of the Melinau River with a stopover at Batu Bungan Penan Settlement. You continue your tour with a visit of Wind Cave. Next, you will explore Clearwater Cave which has the longest cave passage in South East Asia. Have picnic lunch by the crystal clear pool in front of Clearwater Hut. Swim or relax (if time permits) before returning to your accommodation via the same way.

After breakfast at the hotel, check out no later than 1200hrs.

Transfer to Mulu Airport for your departure flight back to Kuching, and then home.
