Meet upon arrival at KLIA by TBA flight, transfer to hotel for check-in.

Fancy trying a new and delicious local dish? Then embark on this gastronomical journey of discovery that allows you to sample some of Malaysia’s most famous dishes, all within walking distance and with the help of a local food guide. Among some of the dishes that you may choose to sample are, Nasi Lemak, Cendol, Roti Canai, Hokkien Mee, Grilled Fish and Chee Cheong Fan.

0700hrs, depart for Hands-On Cooking Class (approx. 6 hours) – Home-cooked food is something to be savored. The flavors and taste of the creations remain in the inner recesses of the mind, unforgotten and you will have wonderful ‘yummy’ memories.
Now you have the opportunity to take home this experience and knowledge. Besides, learning to prepare Malaysian home-cooked food, you will also get an interesting insight into the culture and social structure of the country. The atmosphere of camaraderie is excellent; you will get to mingle with other visitors to the country as well as friendly residents and expatriates simply eager to learn to cook.
Experience a few hours of Malaysian hospitality and you’ll not only get an opportunity to enjoy home-cooked Malaysian dishes, you’ll also learn how to prepare the dishes the way they have been done for generations. A fun alternative to shopping and sightseeing!
Spend half a day starting from 08:00am to 12:30pm, Mondays to Sundays except on Malaysian Public Holidays. The classes, conducted in English, will be kept small between 3 to 10 guests to ensure proper supervision.

1800hrs, depart for Dinner Date with Culture (approx. 4 hours) – Malaysia is truly an exploration and what better way to sample the various cultures alongside famous culinary delights? This evening tour introduces you to the way of life of various ethnic groups with visits to the Sri Maha mariamman Temple, Open Air Bazaar of Chinatown before finishing with a traditional Malay Dinner accompanied by a Cultural Show.

0900hrs, depart for a Melaka Food Trails (approx. 9 hours) – Through this tour, allow us to take you out on a gastronomical adventure around the historical city of Malacca that allows you to sample some of its most famous dishes. Try local specialties with influences from local, Portuguese and Nyonya cuisine, such as the Malacca-famous chicken rice ball, satay celup, nyonya kuih, nyonya laksa, cendol and many more. Included in this tour will be visit St Peter’s Church, Porta De Santiago and the ruins of St Paul’s Church, Dutch Administration office, Cheng Hoon Teng Temple & Jonker Street

This morning after breakfast we set off to Batu Caves – the famous site of the annual Thaipusam festival (in January/February) where almost a million devotees congregate. The 272-steps climbs lead you to the top of a natural limestone cavern which houses a Hindu shrine.
Later, we head north to Ipoh. Along the way, we stop briefly for light lunch at Bidor, which is famous for Duck Thigh Noodle, ‘Sat Kai Ma’ (a type of sweet dessert), ‘Kai Jai Peng’ simple knons as the chicken biscuit, seedless guava, local coffee and many more.
Ipoh – known as “The Hill City” due to being centre and surrounded by hills. Ipoh developed into one of Malaysia’s main cities due to the booming tin mining industry around the turn of the 19th century. During the British colonial era, Ipoh was Malaysia’s second city for administration purposes. There are several notable buildings from the British Colonial era such as the railway station and the town hall. These days Ipoh is perhaps best known for its excellent restaurants, hawkers, famous local dishes and limestone caves/temples. Visit includes Sam Poh Tong (Cavern of Triple Gems – Chinese Caves Temple) and brief tour of old city of Ipoh. During the tour, we stop by at some local coffee shop for tea break and sample the local delicacy such as white coffee, egg tart, toast, Chee Cheong Fun (rice noodle roll) and etc.
Later, check-in hotel, rest and relax.

Today, overland short journey to Kuala Kangsar Town – The royal town of Perak, Malaysia, located at the downstream of Kuala Kangsar River, where it flows into the Perak River. It is the main town in the administrative district of Kuala Kangsar. We make a brief visit to see the gilded dome of Ubudiah Mosque, the impressive Iskandariah Palace and the Istana Kenangan. In this location, you will have a taste of the Laksa (spicy noodle soup) and Cendol (a traditional dessert includes coconut milk, green starched jelly noodles with pandan flavouring and palm sugar in shaved ice).
Continue overland journey to Penang. As we enter the Island of Penang, we will cross one of the longest bridge in world.
Besides the beach, the cultural and heritage rich streets, Penang boasts of a cool hill as well. Simply named Penang Hill, it is about 2750 feet above sea level and is the oldest hill resort in the country. A funicular train dating back to 1923, and has since been upgraded, functions to bring passengers to the top. The train ride is an experience in itself, coupled by colourful flora you’ll see. In case the train is under scheduled maintenance, the tour will be replacing by exploring the Botanical Garden as well as the Reclining Buddha. Followed by a visit to the Kek Lok Si temple – also known as the Temple of Supreme Bliss, Kek Lok Si is said to be the largest Buddhist temple in Southeast Asia, and arguably one of the most famous in Penang. Nasi Kandar is served at local restaurant.
After tour, check-in hotel and freshen up.
1830hrs, proceed for Georgetown Night Discovery (approx. 4 hours) – As sun sets upon Georgetown, the brisk business and chatter of day make way for lights of hotels, restaurants and watering holes to illuminate Penang Road It is still convivial, at a more relaxed pace as you sit in a trishaw and absorb the atmosphere.
After the streets, view the city from the rooftop of Three Sixty° Revolving Restaurant and Sky Bar at Bayview Georgetown. This 360 degree revolving restaurant has been a standing feature at the hotel since 1970s and you will be enjoying dinner of Western specialties alongside views of Georgetown at night.
Overnight in Penang
Breakfast is served at hotel. However, you may skip the hotel’s breakfast as you will later proceed for Penang Walking Food Trail (approx. 4 hours) – This tour is to search for authentic and delicious street food in Penang. We will first venture out to Ayer Hitam to taste the famous Curry Noodles. After that, try the world-renowned Penang Laksa, a fish-based spicy rice noodle soup. The strong aroma of the soup and unique taste of prawn paste makes this hawker food popular among locals and tourist. We will then make our way to Town Coffee Shop at Jln Kimberly for the famous Oyster Delicacy. Next, we continue to Bangkok Lane. Here one can find Mee Goreng, Apong Balik and Pasembur – these are few of the local delights. In the afternoon, we will visit a food paradise street where you can find a table to dine, you can find some of the best Wantan Noodles, Hokkien Noodles and Char Kuew Toew (Fried Rice Noodles).

2000hrs, depart to Gurney Drive – a popular seafront promenade in Georgetown, famous for the “hawker food” sold from food stalls. Dinner at Gurney Drive Hawker Centre (or Pusat Penjaja Anjung Gurney), which is one of the largest and most well-known eatery in Penang. Food sold at the hawker centre include Jiu Hoo Eng Chye (spinach with cuttlefish), Koay Teow Th’ng, Lok Lok, Mee Goreng, Jawa Mee, Mee Rebus, Pasembur,Rojak, Satay, Soya Beancurd (Douhua), and many more.
After dinner, proceed for local night market for “an hour” shopping where you’ll find a colorful display of diverse products, from food to utensils, all at bargain prices. After night market, return to hotel.

0800hrs, depart for Penang Cooking Class (approx. 6 hours) – Guarantee a fully hands on experience where you will prepare your meals from scratch, at your own workstations in small personalized classes.
Learn how to cook traditional Malaysian dishes designed and taught in such a way that you can bring a taste of authentic Malaysia home, even in the middle of a cold winter! Although Malaysian cooking traditionally required heavy grinding stones and pounders, but an electric blender can easily do the trick and make it right.
Tour Includes: Coffee & tea session, cooking class and lunch (self-cooked meal)
Return to hotel after tour, rest and relax.
