Have the option to see how Malaysia’s most distinctive crafts are produces at the world largest Royal Selangor Pewter factory; see the different processes involved in working with the pewter, including casting, filing, polishing, soldering, hammering and engraving. Other attractions include the buildings at the Independence Square, Sultan Abdul Samad Building, King’s Palace (photo stop) and KL City Gallery.

Pick-up from hotel and transfer to airport for the flight to Sandakan.
Meet and greet at Sandakan Airport by our guide, then depart for a 2.5-hour drive through the rustic countryside dotted with local villages. Upon arrival at Borneo Nature Lodge, proceed for orientation, enjoy lunch, and check in.
Relax by the river before departing at 4:00 pm for a river cruise along Sabah’s longest river, the Kinabatangan. Enjoy the chance to spot wildlife and birds in their natural rainforest habitat, including various primate species such as the endemic Proboscis Monkey as they gather on the treetops. The Kinabatangan Wildlife Sanctuary is one of the best places in Southeast Asia for wildlife observation.
Overnight at Borneo Nature Lodge
Wake up to the natural chorus of birds, insects, and wildlife. At 6:00 AM, embark on a morning cruise along the Kinabatangan River to Kelenanap Ox-Bow Lake for bird watching and wildlife spotting. Enjoy a short jungle walk (weather permitting) to experience the raw beauty of Borneo’s wilderness before returning to the lodge for breakfast.
The rest of the day is free at leisure to explore the surrounding area or visit the nearby village. In the late afternoon, at 4:00 PM, join another river cruise to observe the rich flora and fauna of the rainforest.

After breakfast, check out and proceed to the Sepilok Orang-Utan Rehabilitation Centre, where orphaned and injured Orang-Utans are nurtured and trained to return to the wild. Sepilok is a primary lowland forest and an excellent showcase of Borneo’s remaining rainforest. Observe the feeding of the Orang-Utans from the forest platform, followed by a 25-minute scheduled documentary screening.
Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before continuing your tour of Sandakan’s key landmarks, which may include the Central Market—famous for its wide selection of fresh seafood and produce—Sim-Sim Water Village with its houses built on stilts above the sea, and Puh Jih Syh Buddhist Temple, offering a panoramic view of Sandakan Bay from the hilltop of Tanah Merah.
After the tour, transfer to the airport for your evening flight.
